Antonia, I just read your story and wanted to say that I was on the same meds for over 30 years, placed on them for “failing” to adjust to my first son’s SIDS death, then unable to get off and told that I needed them for life. After years of tolerance withdrawal and not finding a professional to help me taper off, I found online information and support and did it myself. I did have doctors who were more than willing to prescribe what I asked for during my taper (liquid valium toward the end to make micro-dosing easier), but other than that, I did it without professional help. Hi Ginger! Thank you for sharing your story too. I agree it is criminal that Pharma gets away with causing so much damage. I appreciate your kind wishes 🙏🏻

IF YOU ARE ON MEDICATION PLEASE DON'T EVER STOP YOUR MEDICATION COLD TURKEY. TALK TO YOUR PRESCRIBER ABOUT GETTING OFF THEM USING A SLOW TAPER. I AM NOT A DOCTOR, PSYCHIATRIST, or TRAINED THERAPIST; THESE ARE THE OPINIONS OF A SURVIVOR.

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911 (or your country's local emergency line) or go to an emergency room.

Be Prepared: Explain that it is a psychiatric emergency and ask for someone who is trained to help with one.
